Hundreds of cyclists from across the US and Australia hit the historic bricks of downtown GR for the 3rd annual world class Grand Cycling Classic on August 8.  Excitement was high as riders reached speeds of 40 mph to vie for a $12,000 purse in a series of men’s and women’s races leading up to the Women’s Cat 1/2/3 and the Men’s Pro 1/2 events.

Over 200 children, ages 9 and under, joined the fun in the Amway One by One Kids Race.  The first 150 to register received a free bike helmet, thanks to the Grand Rapids Griffins' "Put A Lid On It" program and Safe Kids Greater Grand Rapids.
